The Changing Tides is a fictional memoir inspired by lived experience. While the story is imagined, many of its moments, choices, and emotional turning points are drawn from real journeys across three continents during times of significant historical and political change.

At its heart, the novel explores what it means to belong—to a place, to a family, and to oneself. Through themes of idealism, migration, adoption, and identity, it reflects the enduring strength of human connection.

I write under the pen name Oliver Turri. I am an Australian author, and the experiences that have shaped my life are woven throughout these pages. In many ways, this story reflects a life influenced by the quiet forces that have defined who I have become.
